Mint early 70's RR silver shads are going for silly money these days eh, i just been looking about and their stupidly priced.

Most are well over 10k and a MINT one well... silly money.

Surely this cue was nowhere near 10k+.

Either that Or the royce offered too ya was a bargain...

Heres a 72 silver shad and this seems to be the dollar they are going or more or less... > http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2352770.htm

Nice one on the purchase of the cue oldgit, if you got it why not flaunt it eh...

Oldgit have you tried contacting a publisher to put out your search for a cue as a novel? Has all the twists and cliffhangers to be a bestseller - along with the happy ending that no-one expected

Thanks for the wonderful pictures ADR.:-)
7 chevrons on the front and 4 on the back, very nice. Nice tight side grains as well.
Is there a piece of paper that says 'cue easy" in the case? I recall seeing that in the ebay listing. Was that also written by Ronnie...

Nice to see my old cue on here, what a pain trying to shift that on ebay.

Sunk a few classy 15 breaks in with that baby...

So this morning I took the cue to the local snooker centre and was lucky enough to get the match table and match balls. I set the balls up in a lineup and started using the cue. I won't lie and say that I potted everthing because I didn't but the balls that I potted seemed to go into the centre of the pocket and the cue 'feel' felt solid, not whippy at all. The tip is a rarity......a perfect hard elkmaster and felt responsive. I tried first playing with the badge 'up' and it was easy to sight with the arrows but then I tried playing with the badge 'down' and there are still great sighting arrows, i've never seen that on an ash cue before. I spent a happy hour potting balls and walked out knowing that I can use the cue, it didn't feel strange in any way and i'm certain that I concentrated more than usual but seemed to pot balls better than I usually do!!

Agreed, imagine how much of a better player he'd have been had he spent that much on coaching!
                        One day I'll make a century, I've knocked in a 51!

Congrats on getting hold of this legendary cue! Good to hear that you can play with it also. Does this mean you are now using it as your everyday cue?

Your local snooker hall wouldn't be Tables in Thornaby where Green Baize is by any chance? If yes, I'd love to be able to take a gander as I'm in there occasionally.
