  • Cue Advise

    Hi guys,

I'm sure a lot of people are fed up of reading these kind of threads, but after a quick scout through I couldn't find any recent topics, basically I've just started getting back into snooker, I used to go once a week for 9 months and stopped, after a few years I'm now going 3/4 times a week and I'm after a new cue. Ideally id like it 3/4 with the option to add on a mini butt and longer extensions, I don't really want to spend more then £60 and ideally I'd like it to come with a case. I've been looking on ebay but the cues I've seen I've researched on here and they don't get very good reviews. Apologies for posting a topic like this again as I say I'm sure a lot of people are fed up of these kind of topics coming up.

    Thanks

I think youre gonna have to raise your budget or be very lucky muck . I would,nt buying nothing new for that money , your best bet is ebay and leave the case until later .

to be honest I know i'm not going to get great quality, just after advice as to what the best is I can find for my budget. A friend of mine has brought a mr cue snooker cue off ebay and I have also read about JX snooker cues on here as i've seen one for £60 but heard they are not too good quality

to be honest im not sure as normally ive gone to jjb and just brought a good looking 1 and with a decent name eg riley, this will be my first cue that ive actually done some research into, the main thing is to be able to add a mini but extension and a bigger extension, ideally a 3/4 but not essential

                    Other option would be

I havent seen any cues from greenbaize but they have good reputation on here.

I did own one dunns cue which was good value for money.

Suggestion removed, apparently even though they are Peradon cues they are cheap painted ones.

If your interested in any then ask the seller what the full spec is as he doesn't say what the length is which is important, ask the exact weight as well. A few different styles for you below

These cues are all ebonised (painted cues) and all have a cheap varnish finish.

                          Plus are cheaper elsewhere.

Green Baize offer is hand spliced 3/4 cue, mini butt ,solid long ext and a case , £79.99. I dont know about the quality of their budget range, but their other cues have a good reputation.Might be worth a punt, everything you need and only £20 over your budget. You would also have to include postage unless you live close enough to collect.Hope this helps.

From what ive read on the forum this ebay seller is a bit of a running joke with his John Parris prices.

Offer him £60 for the cue below, just curious what his reply will be to see if it starts with F and ends in F
