If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!

Can't Airin. It's an aeon, who went out of business a good few years ago. I'm hoping mike will show love to a fellow tsf member, or if not, at least to a fantastic cue that deserves better than the almighty balls up it has been subjected to. I only took it to the person in question as they have a really good reputation as a great cuemaker. Shouldve gone straight to the mw! Lesson learned!!If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!

I'll give you a clue, about 35 miles from Coventry, and he also makes cases..... Check out some very well known cue makers and you'll get it pretty quick. To be fair, his cues are very good, but I'm not convinced he is overly interested in cues that are not his. Thing is, he's a really nice guy.If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!

Anyway, may be it is a joint that he is not used to working with and it can be tricky sometimes to fix someone else's joint.
Is it a spiroloc type of joint in your cue? What was wrong and what was done to it?
If Mike has no time to repair it, I would suggest you take it to someone who uses the same or a similiar joint.
Sorry to hear about your cue problem as I know you love that cue.
Good luck with getting it sorted,

Good luck with getting it sorted,
It is a spirolock joint, but he did say he's seen a few before so it wouldn't be a problem.
Basically he fixed the joint that had come loose, but realigned it completely different to how it was (ash cue) so the grain was now chevrons I looked at instead of the lines. (don't like looking at chevrons). I took it back and he fitted a washer type thing (against my wishes as I said I didn't want one) that overcorrected it, so I tried to sand a little off anyway to align in right and the washer split!
I'm looking for mike to take the joint out, and re-align it to how I mark it so it will back to how it was in the first place.
Like I said Andrew, I'm certainly not slating him personally as he is a really nice guy, or his cues as I've seen a couple and they are fantastic pieces of wood. He just didn't seem bothered about realigning it properly for me for some reason. Don't know why.If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!
