Does anyone know who else will offer pearwood for shaft?
I definately rememeber reading Keith Auld will make one with steamed pearwood, but I strongly advise you search for him in the threads on here and read them completely before ordering from him. It is your decision though.
Also, there is one for sale in the "for sale/wanted" thread. I had a look yesterday. Might be worth making the guy an offer on that if it is similar to what you require. The butt was too thin for me, or I would have.

May I advise you read my topic again?
Keith Auld & Dan Shelton both black list on my mind.
Trevor White , wonderful splices work, the craftsmanship is second ton none, but TW is not my cup of tea as I can't accept long wait without any up-date message.

You could always try John Parris. For the right price I'm sure he would do it!
Others you can try contacting to see if they will use it are - Dave Coutts (Coutts cues), Robin Cook, Robert Osborne, Tony Glover (Glover cues), and a whole host of others. Just because it isn't advertised, doesn't mean they wont do it. (It normally means it will be more expensive if they will).
Good luck

A lot of cue makers won't continually send out update messages. Trevor has a flawless reputation. I'm sure once everything is sorted and started, he will not forget you, will not prioritise others over you, and will create you a fantastic cue. I think with bespoke cuemaker, if they send out an update, it is a bonus.

Back to 7 months , I placed an order to DC for a cue , he quoted me the waiting time should be 7 months, last two months I got some e-mail from DC with some pictures about the making process of my cue, and he promise me that my cue will be finished in time.
Finally, I got my cue without 7 months!!!
As a customer , I need that kind of service, DC always able to reply within 3-4 days.
I’m very happy with my Coutts cue and will place another order to Coutts cue next two yrs.

You will be happy with the level of service from tony glover then, plus he'll make you a pearwood shaft cue- however the last one i looked at in his workshop was a bit on the whippy side. He did tell me he'd make one but it wouldn't be as good a player as maple and ash so decided against it and stuck with maple

as told by B&W that Pearwood can be whippier than ash or maple , so they will suggest customer have a long butt 3/4 cue which gives a slightly shorter
Pearwood shaft, making it a little stronger

Dean, when I said that I have played with three pear shafted cues I should have said "owned".The pear Camkin is still in my posession and unfortunately there is a waiting list of people who want to own her,but I am not selling.I have asked Jason Owen,Chris Lloyd,Mike Fearnley,ADR and Andy Hunter (via a third party) and none of them has ever seen a pear shafted Camkin before,so you can be sure that it is a rarity,if not actually a one off.I am not sure if it was made to order or a mistake during production, but one thing is sure ,its staying with me.Incidentally although machine spliced and one piece it has a proportionally short shaft in relation to total length.I am convinced that this helps with shaft stiffness and playability.

I don't blame you though for holding on to it. I wouldn't sell it either! If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!
