  • mastercue or omin

    hi

anyone had tried the mastercue probutt series and omin classic series?

which will be a better choice?

These two companies are well established names when it comes to Thai cues. I have tried both series... they play well and are of good quality. I find Mastercue tends to play a bit stiffer than Omin but I wouldn't put one above the other... Seriously, it would be up to individual preference. Have a hit with both.

I think you can try out Mastercue at Snooker Zone in Toa Payoh Central. You can check Omin cues out at Snooker Culture at Lee Kai House, Bugis Street. Both places should allow you to test play the cues... My info could be a little outdated though, so my apologies if there are any inaccuracies wrt these 2 places...

Personally never had joint problems before. Joints are usually such hardy stuff that I wouldn't worry too much about... Just treat your cue properly and don't bang them on hard surfaces. A good quality cue would probably last better and longer than you or me...

Generally Mastercue tend to be stiffer then Omins. But it comes down to that particular cue.Best way is try out a cue before buying.

If you're in West side, can go west coast recreation center.

There's a guy there that deals with Omin, pretty much consigns cues to other clubs in singapore...so you're going directly to the source.

                  Provides after sales service too.

                  PM me if interested.

The joint problem was sorted more than a year ago I think, but maybe need to be careful buying second hand.

Was it about the joint coming loose during play? What joint were they using? Did they change to a new joint?

Wow, dropped from the rooftop? Lol...

I sometimes commit the cardinal sin of leaning my cue against the table (just for a moment though) and it slipped onto the floor... luckily, it remained intact.
