ta mate, any luck in your search yet?

gotta admit i didnt walk out with just one cue, picked up a 3/4 147 master cue aswell. didnt think i was a fan of them to be honest, but this one was perfectly in my spec and hit the balls well. couldnt decide between the too so took them both.

Wish Craftsman would update their ready for dispatch Craftsman cues for people who cant travel to the shop I am sure the 147 in larger tip size 10 mm would be a great seller

The same cue (Ready for dispatch) online is only 8mm not a popular size for snooker.

You sound like me mate chose three Phoenix cues couldn't decide
on the one i liked and the shop was closing so ended up buying
all three. Lovely looking cue though hope it plays as well as it
looks. You will have to let us all know which one you decide on
or you might just keep both cues to feed your addiction like me lol

Well I've gone and bought one. Went to Craftsman to get a 1 piece cue case for my North West cue, but thought what's the harm in trying the one piece Phoenix cues. Wow. I'm sorry so say that I'm normally a badge snob and an English workmanship kind of guy, with Wooldridge, Muncaster etc, but the quality of the Phoenix cue is amazing. Super straight nicely spaced grain, evenly spaced chevrons and such a good solid feel when hitting the ball. Brought the cue home and immediately knocked in a 75 in my first lineup. It just feels so consistent. 18.7 oz 9.8mm tip. The rest of the league better watch out this season!

Me too. A badge never potted a ball, it's how the cue plays that matters. I got one from Craftsman too. Don't you just love the silky finish and flat belly underside. I doubt if an MW or TW can be smoother; the Phoenix may even top 'em. How do you think it compares to your other cues? You gonna post some pics?

It feels the best of all my cues. For looks and finish I prefer the wooldridge. Only downsides for me are the fact that the butt is lacquered rather than oiled, and I think it's a bit of a cheat that they actually taper the ferrule down to hit the 9.8mm from 10mm ash. I'll post pics on the other thread, and include most of my cues there too.

Strange, mine is ruler straight from tip to butt, conical. The lacquer is extra protection, are you going to remove it, I think it's only one coat thick?

Sorry PP I'm going to have pull you up on that one there mate.....

I would have to disagree with you there bud, I've had the pleasure of playing with a few TW and his finish on his cue are exquisite and second to none and I'm sure a few would agree with me on here, and I would imagine MW cues are the same!!

No. I'm going to leave the lacquer, because it seems to act as a bit of extra grip bizarrely, without the need to grip, if you know what I mean. Just got a 131 total clearance on the lineup on my 3rd attempt with the cue. Amazing. Haven't done that all year. Such a "crisp" hit.

You should only deal in facts PP (with a name like yours) and stop assuming things, i'm guessing you have never held a Trev in your hands ??? The finish is unreal, the smoothest you can ever imagine

I've commented on what Caesar says, he thinks it feels the best. Yes, I have seen/held a TW, Parris etc. We're not that far removed from civilisation down here you know! And in my opinion, I haven't felt anything smoother than my Phoenix. I'm yet to hold an LP or Ultimate, so I can't comment on them. Mine has a flat belly silk finish, no-one can beat that, maybe equal it, but not beat it. Not unless they've invented some new technology that large cue makers don't have, maybe a magic black buffing wheel? lol There's someone on here who feels that a Robin Cook is the best finish bar none. Is he right, is it a fact? No, perceptions of any kinds are not facts. But for the Robin Cook owner, it is true, in his hands. Just as a Phoenix is true in my hands.
