What spec & design have you gone for with your ultimate ?
Hopefully the cue is legitimate and whoever buys it will be over the moon with it unless otherwise.

The specs I've gone for Ultimate is 56.5 long, 28.5 mm plain ebony butt, 16.5OZ , 17 balance, 9.5mm ferrule

That's interesting you don't see many at 16.5oz on the modern cues though it can help generate more spin as you can accelerate the the cue quicker, all down to personal choice though.

i find myself gripping a butt to hard with heavier cues . with lighter cue i tend to cue/push through smoother with more of a consistent timing if thats makes any sense . at the moment i play with 17oz cue and i feel that i could get away with tad lighter cue.

No mate. Not real. JP specials are not numbered...
If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!

Maybe not numbered......but could it have been done as a special request " one off " ?

Makes perfect sense mate & as long as it suits you personally thats all that matters i prefer a lighter cue myself.

At least you'll have the parris special to fall back on if things don't work out........now you've put us all off it.........lol

ive never intended to put anyone off! ive only suggested that the badge in picture 1 looks a bit odd thats all especially black shadow around it. maybe its just a badly taken picture makes it look like that. who knows...

I was only joking, thing is i know you said John said specials were never numbered, but thats not ruled out this was done as a "one off" or something, so we're still not 100% one way or the other are we ?

Well the seller is not helping himself by not answering queries, i asked him ....
"Sorry to doubt you in anyway, but i have never seen numbered special cues before ! (only Ultimates) can you put my mind at ease and say you have the receipt or something to prove its genuine. Your pics are a bit blurry and difficult even to tell if joint is genuine, thanks for any info you can pass my way"
You would think he would jump at the chance to help a sale, i know i would

To be fair John he might not even know for sure, he could have bought it in good faith of ebay himself you just never know.
Nice to see you showing off your new avatar though....;-)

I have been doing my "Columbo" bit and looked thro his feedback, he paid a good price for it, and in the original sale pics to me the badge looks genuine, take a look at this

We should run a new series " JRC Investigates " sounds good eh ?

There you go then he's paid top money himself and might not even know if its right or wrong, i'd just got a feeling we'd seen it before it could have even been sold a few times on ebay till someone actually questions it. He might be contacting who he bought it off now to get answers so this might run on a while i think.
I think the mesage should be buyers beware who & where you buy from and if there's any doubt get it checked out if you can before spending your hard earned cash.
