Not to mention the fact that it was often said of Hendry that he became the best player in the world, with the worst cue in the world. His Connie was crap, Bent as Elton John! These were not expensive cues in the day, so havent gained value as they were not good to start with. In fact, the only reason they are anywhere near as famous as they are is because Hendry used one! A collector might pay a bit more, but on the whole, people are not *that* interested in them, as they were a mass produced cue.

Also, as Poolqjunkie says above, this cue has made no history what-so-ever. It isn't Hendry's original cue, so is simply a replica model. Hendry's Powerglide was destroyed aboard a plane in 2003.

Sorry bud, but I suggest you put up a few pics and state how much you want for it. I'd be surprised if it went to £100, but you never know, you might get lucky.
If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!

Cally, what don't you agree with? Hendry's cue was well known for not being straight. Other pro's commented on it.
They were £40 when Hendry got his (1980), which equates to approx £133 now - Not that expensive.
Most people wouldn't be interested in one of these if Hendry hadn't made it famous (how many people have requested a "Peter Ebdon" style cue, or a Joe Swail cue)? As they haven't broke every record available, people aren't interested in having the same cue as they use...
They were a mass produced cue. (not a "flood the market" type mass produced, but certainly not a ltd edition or anything), they were a Rex Williams endorsed cue, a bit like the "Jimmy White", "Paul Hunter" etc.
This cue is not "the greatest cue ever made" (if there is such a thing). It has not won 7 world titles like the OP is trying to claim....
Value wise, I'm not certain at all, but for a vaguely collectable cue, not renowned for playability or build quality, I certainly wouldn't pay more than £100 for it. Just because it is the same type of cue Hendry used to use (before it got broke), doesn't make it valuable.
The op must have an idea of how much he wants/expects for it, so why not just put some pics up and a price (aiming high and coming down) instead of trying to invoke a dutch auction on fellow members?

I don't want to sound argumentative, just trying to explain why I have said what I did above.

Well, i was going to explain my reasoning but cba now...

But you say you wouldnt pay 100 quid for this cue, well considering the 2 pce ash versions will sell for 100 quid all day long i think you might be a bit off the mark on this. they are gtting sought after cues i assure you. and more ppl want one than you obviously realise.

The only reason imo it still here is the seller is obviously being a bit of a numpty with the sale and refusing to put pics until offers come in, it would have been snapped up if he put a decent price and a few pics.

i'm not saying it's worth lots of dollar or nowt but i dont agree with the sweeping statements you made bud, that's all.

            cool.

As ADR keeps saying, its worth what someone will pay for it. No more, no less.

You say their crap but the shaft on the ash one i have here is as good as any top makers....

And yeah, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay, of course. same applies to all eh...

              Peace out....

Cough cough, i offered a £1, but he didn't show me the pics !!
I reckon between £90 to £130 if specs are good, sounds a bit like a "bargain hunt" estimate that eh lol

Have a look at this post from forum member GEM who played at the same club as Stephen. There's a fair amount of "urban myth" about Stephen's cue but the one he bought when he was 14 (about 1983) was not bottom of the range. Around the same time I bought a plain ebony Rex Williams Powerglide and it cost me £42. Mines is machine spliced and Stephens I believe was hand spliced so would have been more expensive if he's paid the full retail price.

i can try mate but the shop is closing down soon and they only had a few cues left and i was put on to my cue as i know someone who works there they found it in the back storage and kept it for me as they knew i was looking for that powerglide connoisseur hendry spliced cue. Like i said i will go ask for you but is unlikely that they will have it but il also ask if they know any shop, or any website or person that is selling one if they dont have it. By the way do you know anyone who is selling a powerglide connoisseur 1piece maple hendry splicing? regards
