Full Exotic Wood butt...possible?

    For butt splices, cocobolo, ebony, snakewood, and rosewood are more common.
    Burr is very soft, light, porous and less stable than the above woods.
    Length is not an issue as you can buy them at 19" or you can buy a big piece and cut them up yourself.

      After playing with my mates JP Traditional (one piece) last night, the length required is shorter than i thought. I think someone mentioned above the splices on a once piece are a lot shorter anyway when compared to a 3/4.

      Still not sure its worth the money mind.

        The splice length is irrelevant to the length of the cue.

        You could get a 56 inch cue with 19 inch splices but you can also get a 58 inch cue with 17 inch splices.
