  • The Dilemma

No its not choosing the black and going for a 147 or playing the pink and winning the frame (everyone knows glory is the way to go )

A few months ago i found myself in a rut. I couldnt put together a decent break or even a frame of pool. Cue sports had lost there shine on me and I started to contemplate giving it away for a while. My remedy was to order a parris.

Since then I have fallen in love with the game and my cue again. I'm almost fearing the thought of my parris arriving to find that I cant gel with it.

Just wondering if anyone has gone through the same thing and how you's have overcome it??

I am sure many on here have gone through exactly the same situation: ordered a cue, waiting for delivery, "will it suit me?".
All I will say is when you do receive the cue, give the cue time to "settle" into it, I see many cues coming up for sale on here in very quick turnaround as the owner says they cannot get used to it.
As to how long that time is, I am sure will depend on the person, for me it took about 6-7 weeks (playing about twice a week) for the new cue to feel good!
Don't force it, remember the cue also has to get used to you as well
    Up the TSF! :snooker:

Take time and patience to adapt for a new cue

If you have a cue you are already comfortable with then my advice is stick to it. In all honesty you are only going to be taking several steps backwards when trying to adapt to a new cue. Every shot you can currently play with your old cue will be different with a new one. Its like learning to play the game again, yes you know how the play the shots but the feel and the effort you have to go through to get accustomed to a new cue its like going back to the beginning.

If you're prepared to put the work in and feel like you will benefit from a JP quality cue then go for it but be prepared to get frustrated again, something you contemplated giving up the game for not so long back.
