  • The best way to remove the lacquer from the butt

    Hey my first post here.

I own a O'Min Cue. Cheap Model. I bought it as my first cue. The shaft is without lacquer the but has lacquer on it.
And i really hate the lacquer feeling. I want to get rid of it.
I will buy a better cue in the next 6 months but until then i would like to remove the lacquer from the butt.
Perhaps anyone has a tip how to do it? Just rubbing it with sandpaper?
    Thanks!

Bro, use scouring pad instead of any sand paper no matter how fine the grade was.

Very, very fine wet and dry paper (about 1200 or even finer) will do it. The finer the wet and dry, the longer it will take but the better it will finish. When you've got the lacquer off, apply several coats of raw linseed oil. Best bet is to start with 1200 and go up through the grades until you're using 2000+ to get it smooth. Good luck!
If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!
