+1. mike is good people, and bloody good at what he does!
If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!

Ive not ordered a cue myself from Dan but ive felt the many months of pain of others from reading the various Dan Shelton threads, a free cue from Mike would help to erase the painful reading and suffering that many of us readers have had to go through.

Mike, shall we just pop into your online shop and select a free cue and pm you with the details, you come across as a very generous and understanding person. Keep up the great work.

An earlier post from MW stated that he is not issuing his own cues to those missing cues from Dan, but he is helping Dan sort out the cues/orders Dan already has. I am assuming that Burwat Champ either got back the cue he sent to Dan for alteration or a new cue that was so close to finishing it did not take too long to complete with working equipment.
            We may never know...
Burwat - so glad for you after what, nearly 2 yrs? - any piccies coming our way?

There are very few people who put themself out to help others, so what Mike is doing is rare in the business world.. Fair play Mike

also I think you meant "rare" - but maybe MW's "rear" is "rare in the business world" :snooker:

The cue is one that Dan made for me from scratch but had not got around to finishing it, Mike got involved and sorted it out for me which im really grateful for.

The cue plays really well and the finish is outstanding!

I will post some pics up as soon as I find the camera.
Just because its old, doesn't mean its worth a fortune!!

                      Lol.

Let's be crystal clear about this - Splicing up an oversize shaft does not constitute 'so close to finishing'. In fact, that's the easy part.

Well, i should say it's not easy to do good accurate splicework with even points etc., but that's another story...

I now have all the cues that were actually started. About 10, and with all due respect I could have spliced them and turned oversize to this standard in less than a week.

Remind me, how long has this been going on?

A working planer has nothing to do with finishing these cues here. They are already spliced, but that's it. Nothing else. Oversized, unfinished sticks.

What I am doing now is far from a 5 minute job. In fact, it is the majority of the work involved i.e. sizing, finishing, weight, joint, ferrule etc..

I've lost days on these cues already so let nobody be under any illusion that the cues just need a little tickle, then out the door.

Hard work and time is what's required. My time. Which I am not happy about it, but I said I'll do it, so I will.

You forum members should be a lot more careful who you go chasing for cues in future....

Lol lets all vote Mike for rear of the year
On a more serious note Mike, how is Dan ? He is coping better, or on a downward spiral ???

Yeeesssss.......I'm beginning to hate the term 'finishing'. Kind of makes it seem an insignificant incidental thing, I've already ranted about this in previous post so I won't go on.

Well maybe I will - the cue was far from finished

And on the finishing theme, glad you liked the final finish itself

                            How's dan? Oh... He's still a cock.

I tell him that every time I speak to him. In fact I think he likes it. Call it therapy.

Is he coping better? Yes. He's much more positive now.

It's me who now lies asleep at night worrying about his customers for him
