    • A shelton cue is gonna be second only to a red shafted ye olde ash in terms of rarity it seems

        • Well Done Mike, Looks good on you, even if you need to crack a whip to obtain a good resurl. Some of us need a little more shoe polish on our behind than others, as long as we get there.
          Well Done.
I try hard, play hard and dont always succeed, at first.!!!!:snooker:

Of course, I will ask next time I have a chat, especially about my order
I am hoping that as MW is back in the workshop after all the unhappiness he has gone through, he may be back on the case in whatever manner he is helping Dan, and there may be more good news.

Let's make this crystal clear for everyone:

Dan is not waiting on me for anything.

It is me who has been waiting since DECEMBER to buy the wood for shafts needed to fulfill Dan's orders.

The plan was for me to prepare the shafts, and Dan to splice them using he wood he has. They ARE Dan's cues after all, and he should do something for the money he has taken...

Then they come back to me for the time consuming job of joints, ferrules, weight, finishing to size etc..

That is, and was, the deal right from the start.

However, despite numerous phone calls etc., I have STILL not been told exactly what he needs.

I have specifically requested a full list of the cues needed, based on the list of orders/customers he must have somewhere on his computer.

I know a lot of people contacted me, as requested, but I need to do this properly and make sure I have exactly the same details that Dan has, so that nobody is forgotten, overlooked, undercharged, overcharged etc., etc..

So, until Dan makes the effort (tiny) of cataloging his customers orders, I am not willing to go and buy a load of wood 'blind'.

You can lead a horse to water...

                • Sounds like Dan needs to pull the thumb out of his ass and get to work, its bad enough he messed people around on here for long enough, now he's messing about the guy who was willing to put in significant work to make sure people didn't go without the cues they've been waiting on so long.

Unfortunately it looks as tho this horse needs putting down.
Real shame as Dan seemed like a great bloke producing some interesting cues, a talent lost.

i reckon that thumb must have rotted away given how long it's been up there

                            Hi Mike,
Should of put however in the middle of that post as we all know where the problem in this sad episode lies

                            thanks

                            • Hi all
My first post, just a general throw out here,I'm from backwater Hereford and we have a very good local cue maker here called Paul Dawes. I'm bringing him up as he doesn't use a lathe at all in his process, just elbow grease and hand tools. Is this unusual?if not, could the elusive Mr Shelton have just rolled his sleeves up and worked a bit instead of getting his bum wiped by the quite unbelievably generous Mike Wooldridge. I am quite a recent cue enthusiast and think it beggars belief someone can take money for a product and,it seems, stick two fingers up to your customers. Only my opinion

                              • In fairness I don't think that was ever his intention and he has had a lot to deal with. The issue really is that a lot of people have shown a lot of patience and mike has certainly offered his valuable time and assistance but ultimately it's dan that needs to want to get it sorted out which I think everyone hopes he will
