Amazing these are commanding that type of Cash, whether anyones daft enough to buy it for that is another thing, think id prefer to order one, wait the few months and pocket the change.

I don't think the waiting times are as long as some ppl like to make out.

The wait is longer on one piece ultimates than three quarter length. The only people that buy cues for vastly inflated prices such as yours either have more money than sense, or are incredibly impatient and buy into your "16 month" lead time exaggeration, or in the case of one of your other listings a "14 to 20 month" lead time for a three quarter length as seen here

Ive no doubt that occasionally the cues can take a bit longer, just so happens just about every cue you've listed has some totally over the top lead time number slapped onto the listing. Coincidence?

BTW aren't you the same guy that had a cue listed on ebay with a clearly doctored receipt as talked about in this thread?

When I was last in JP he told me that he could make me any of his standard rack cues in two weeks?????
Ultimate's take longer because John has to wait for the right shaft plus leaving them to sit between plaining and finishing but this shouldn't take more than a few months.

Seems this ebay guy has a nack of getting shafts that also can do the dishes so theres an extra long wait for those

Hi caz, this bit is taken straight from the Q&A part of JP website

                    Approximate Delivery Times

Parris Collection Cues 4-6 weeks for 3/4 cues and 6-12 weeks for 1pc cues
                    American Pool Cues 6-12 weeks
                    Limited Edition Cues 8-12 weeks
Special Cues 14-18 weeks for 3/4 cues and 20-25 weeks for 1pc cues

Bit of a difference between 50 weeks and 16 to 20 months as in some of his listings though. Probably added to his listing to increase the drama of the time it takes to get a cue if you order as opposed to snagging one of his.

I ordered a JP Special in December before I bought my Mike Wooldridge cue and I was quoted a 5-6 month wait for a 1 piece Special when I spoke to John on the phone.

Yeah I think the 50 week wait is also very much the longest you are likely to wait. I know someone who had a 1 pc ultimate in under 5 months so I would say that is more of a realistic guide to the waiting time.

I just priced up this ultimate set, you could buy all this made to your spec for just over £1000. Why would anyone pay a premium of £600 extra when you can get it made exactly how you'd want it and with the extra knowledge that if you don't get on with the cue JP will make you another until you are satisfied!

Thats what has me scratching my head, these are custom cues made the way you want, suprises me how many people leap at the chance to get a cue the way someone else wanted it. Suppose for some people the spec would be fine (and because its similar to O'Sullivans its a selling point) but i feel that the "ultimate" badge is the main thing thats keeping cash changing hands.

Id much prefer to spec it how i want and wait rather than paying way over the odds to have something that might not be 100% how i want it. Might be doing that in a Month or so

There is no way that a JP ultimate is any better than my mastercraft fact and it only cost me £140 I have a great shaft and the cue is balance at 17inch as with most standard cues.

Horses for courses really, im considering getting an ultimate cue built but at the moment its in the thinking about it stage, would just be something id like to try out while i have the cash, if i don't like it no big loss as it can be sold on easily enough

Ive owned Parris cues in the past and the quality of them was top notch, had an exclusive for a while and a traditional, ended up selling them off after getting fed up with snooker years ago
