  • How much and where for a Hendry Maple Replica guys? :O)

I have been playing with my Peradon cue for about 10 years but starting to get some problems with it, and looking for a new cue. As not only a keen player but a keen snooker fan, and Stephen Hendry fan, I had my mind set on buying a nice handmade cue with the replica splicings and specs of his old Powerglide Connisseur :O)

I know it won't make me the player he was, but I would like to get a nicely made one like that if I can afford to. I know Dunn's do one, but it is 18.5oz which is a little heavier than I am used to (and is actually heavier than Hendry's one anyway).

Just wondered if anyone could tell me where might be best to go to try and get my nostalgic Hendry replica handmade with specs and splicings, and how much it might cost.

Hope you can help (and don't think I am too sad!)

    Jon

Hard to say how much it will cost bud, all depends who you would like to make it.

Could be from £200 - £500+... like i said, all depends who ya get prices from...

best thing to do is drop a few pm's etc to makers and see what they say.

    Peace out...

Good man cheers, any suggestions of who to contact? Probably £300-£350 would be as much as I could spend.

      Jon

P.S - I like your quote at the bottom of your posts!

Hi Jon, none of the 'top' makers will do that for the price you have in mind.

I'd be looking at someone like unclevit or andy travis, both would no doubt do one with ext's included etc for around that, little less maybe..

I would mention a few others but not sure if they are doing cues with multi splices at mo.

Andy travis could be a good bet tho... and for a good price no doubt.

And unclevits cues always get good reviews. and again a good price.

Or Up the budget a little more and have trev make it...

or up the budget more again and have Mike wooldridge make it.

Soo many choices, this cue making makarky is a reet nightmare eh...lol.

          ATB

E2A... or what ADR said, forgot about MC...

          Peace out..

There is a guy on here called reina or reine or something like that that is selling one. Only downside is he is being a bit of a tool and won't post pics or say a price, but it was on eBay and didn't sell for £100....

He's done about 5 threads to try and sell it so check them out (search for powerglide or connoisseur). I cant be bothered to link it as I'm on my phone and it's a ball ache!
If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!

Oh is that the Austrian chap? Yeh I saw that on ebay the other week, he'll never get a £100 for it! It's not even a Rex Williams Connisseur one, so whilst it is like Hendry's it is not the same. He might get £50 for it, but a minimum bid of £100 seems a bit hopeful to me!!

                Thanks for your replies guys!

John parris would be your best bet as he has all the measurements of the original cue but you would be looking at around £700 +

I can imagine! Im in no rush so wont be chasing. It comes when it comes.

Off topic but who cares....do Pro Granite's mushroom as bad as elks? Im finding everyone i put on i have to sand the edges off every half an hour and its getting annoying. I want a tip that stays the same shape for more than 10 minutes at a time!

Are mastercraft taking orders at the minute? I've tried e-mailing twice in the last couple of weeks with no reply. After a quote for a cue for my mate but to no avail? Possibly too much work on and therefore prioritising that as many orders maybe need to be done in time for Xmas, he's now deliberating going to Craftsman instead only he wanted snakewood splicing but told him Craftsman haven't got any.
Ah well may wait until after the new year and see how things are then.
