I have asked Jason to consider holly as an option for the veneers on a Cue Guru cue I am designing.Stunning wood and great when used to delineate two timbers of similar hue.

Yes it is nice, and it is whiter than maple, with a more refined grains.
Have you seen any snooker cue made with holly? Would love to see that.
I wonder if they will stay white over time with just oil finish...

I have only seen a cue badge made of holly.Dave at Craftsman, when he first started ( 80-85) used to use holly for his badges and "impressed" the Craftsman logo on the badge (some kind of press,I believe).I posess a 3/4 Craftsman that Dave has verified is from this period and yes the holly stays white especialy when you consider how much build up,off your hands, there is likely to be on the badge face.I will say that the Craftsman logo is almost gone ,although Dave says he could re-do it, so that also illustrates how soft holly can be.If you want I can send you a j.peg to your Aurora e-mail address to illustrate the "whiteness",let me know,Airin.
