Maybe you should ask the seller for length, weight and tip size, altho looks ok from what you can see. One piece one's always in demand over the centre split ones, i would hazard a guess it will go for around the £100 mark, would be more if it were maple tho

I contacted seller Yesterday reagarding size ect and he replied this morning saying he didnt know the weight or how to measure the tip but he measured the length and its 58 inches.
        That seems perfect for me.
Thinking of putting maximum bid of 70 in.

          Hi Mick...

70 quid bid will be hit and miss for the cue imo, it could poss go for a lot more. then again it could go for less.

one went for over 200 quid not long back. not saying this will though, who knows...

          Anyways...

When the cue was new the specs of the connie were > 31mm butt > 10mm tip > 17-18oz weight > and as you know 58" length.

Good luck with the auction man.

Yes, that's the spec the connies were made too.

Obviously some may have been messed with afterwards etc, but that's the specs they were made too by powerglide.

Am i missing something obvious with these Powerglide Connoisseur cues ? I'm really suprised what they seem to fetch given that they were a fairly cheap cue in their day and wouldn't have played all that well plus they were plastered in varnish.

I appreciate that Stephen Hendry used one but as we know he's probably the best player thats ever played the game, his superb cueing action would have made that cue work miracles.

That one in the link at the top seems to have a different colour shade of splicing to the one Hendry had, the one in the link looks like darker splicings, Hendry's cue splice looked more reddish like a rosewood.

Hi stig, yep it looks that way tho when you see a couple of these connoisseurs side by side the shade of rosewood does vary greatly sometimes, as does the length of the upper ebony splicings. Remember tho this model was made by powerglide for over 15years so theres bound to be a little variation in the rosewood colours along the way!
