  • Removing dents from front splice

    Hi all

Can it be done? Removing dents in front splice? Paradoo wood. Leant to a friend who has put minor dents in front splice.

Thinking of giving Bob Akers a ring.

Depends on how deep the dent is, my cue is at parris cues and one of the jobs needing doing is taking a slight dent out of one of the ebony splices. Not sure if they have some way of expanding the wood to fil the dent out or if it needs to be sanded back to get the dent out.

Anyone reading this needs to understand that excessive heat applied to butts made from exotics can, and most likely will, ruin the cue.

You probably should go to someone competent and have it filled, polished, and finished over.

as other members said heat is used for dents, i had a few big dents in my Gun stock and i just used a damp/wet rag and an iron to bring the grain out and it worked a treat after sanding, is the grain split or still intact? dont know what the effect would be on exotic wood will be though :/

Anyone tried a clean soldering iron briefly against a damp cloth?
