  • Help identifying a Powerglide cue

    Hi Cue Experts.

I was wondering if anyone could help me identify this cue. I bought it new in the very early 1980's. It is a powerglide one piece maple but as you can see the badge dropped out of the holder many years ago. My recollection is that it is a Connoisseur but having browsed the forum I am not certain.

My ultimate objective is to try and get a replacement insert for the badge as it is slightly distracting when I have my fingers wrapped round it. It would be nice to have the proper one and I wouldn't want to misrepresent the cue (which I have no intention of selling).

I know newbies aren't allowed to post images so I have put a photo on my webserver. The link is: http://www.wyldes.com/PG%20Butt%20and%20Splice.jpg

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Cheers.

        Thanks :-)

        Many Thanks for your help.

Do you have any idea which model it might have been, or is it just referred to as a 'Rex Williams'?

        Cheers, Scarg

I am afraid i dont know that one..i think as it has no name when others by the same maker do then i would suggest that it might be called The Rex Williams Cue.

          hope this helps you.

Is everyone sure it's not a red badge Connoiseur?

I have always thought it was a connoisseur, but after seeing the fancier splicing of Hendry's cue I had begun to wonder whether my memory was playing tricks with me after 30 years. I'm sure that the badge was maroon rather than silver.

Try putting "powerglide" into the search button, theres usually a few postings of a pdf of a powerglide brochure, maybe you can pick it out. My league night tonight so off in a mo, i'll have a look later see if i can spot it

think they might of been the first ones before hendrys version came out,

Bingo! - that looks like the one - Thanks Matty and everyone else who helped, I really appreciate it.

Next Question - how do I go about getting a replacement badge and rubber bung from the bottom of the butt ??

I suspect it will not be easy :-(
