I was gonna start up a thread similar to this but asking who is currently waiting for a cue to made and how long have you got to wait for it?
As for me the longest wait was only 4 months for a cue off Dave Coutts years ago before he became more well known. He makes all cues from start to finish hand planed so is understandable.
4 months for a Robert Osborne cue . Used to go in there every few weeks and see what stage it was at . Very interesting to see it from start to finish .
Ordered one from trevor white. Waited almost 11 months & communications were brutal. Waited a long time to get a cue not meeting my requested specifications. Tried to resolve but was ignored.
never waited cos never had 1 made never thought i were that good a player lol
you dont have to be amazing to have cue made, im not amazing but always wanted a cue personally made for me, my design, specifications etc..... i appreciate the quality. shame my talent doesnt do the cues justice lol

thats what i meant never knew what my best specs were because i wernt good enuf, now in my mind my specs are 58 in 9.5 mm tip weight 18-18 1/2 oz but still wouldnt say i was good enuf to specify exactly
Are these custom cues you are talking about? If so, then the waiting time is dramatically less than getting a pool cue from a top cuemaker in the states. I've waited almost 10 years to get a South West cue, and am going on 13 for a Searing cue. There are also more than a few makers that have closed their books because their wait lists are too long.
I wonder if the makers of snooker cues are just far more efficient, or if there are just more top quality ones to get a cue from?
