  • New cue help for noob!

    Hello all.

First post here so go easy on me I've recently started playing snooker last couple of months. I had been using a cue my friend gave to me (his 1st) i believe it was out of argos for around £20 so not great quality but non the less its what ive been using. Its got to the point where i want to purchase my own. With some many brands out there its abit confusing where i should be looking.

Here's where you guys come into it. Ideally my budget is £100. Lower if possible. Just so i can get a half decent cue, ext and case for that budget range. For a beginner looking to progress and see me through for a good few years. Any good brands i should look to or stay away from? Or even places to purchase the named makers.

    Thanks in advance

I think you will really struggle to find a decent cue and case for £100 , my advise would be to use your budget on the cue and look for a decent case on ebay or here .

What specs are you after as i have one or two cues for that price and i,m sure others here will too .

Yeah maybe im being abit unrealistic getting it all under 100. The current cue ive been using seems to suit me well is a 9.5mm, 18oz. centre.

Am looking for same but 3/4. Was looking at some by Peradon entry range, Crown/ Delta. Not sure what peoples opinions are on them.

Craftsman have some decent machine spliced cues from Mastercue and Phoenix on their website, could certainly do worse than look at those.

Thanks for all the replys. Much appreciated. I certainly dont want to rush into buying my cue seeing as it could be with me for some time.

Will check out Dunns and craftsman and see what options they give me.

for a cheaper alternative, i have a one piece ash rack cue which I have refinished and new tip in your spec. Feels nice and plays well.

                  £30.

Well its certainly not one that stands out in my eyes. However it is better then the one i have!

Craftsmancue - looking at the champion and TM1 cues, Machine spliced anyone used/got one of them cues and feedback?
