    Wait then! Like hotpot says;

    If u buy something from the likes of trevor white, mike woolridge, robin cook, john parris etc and ur specs are standard then the cue should sell on no problem.

    If you dont to wait too long then buy from makers who dont have long lead times such as mastercraft.

            I wonder if the cue makers want their money when you place the order? To be honest, to pay ~400 bucks and then wait for almost a year doesn't sound fun to me.

              I believe that most cuemakers (UK) take a deposit upon order placement, balance on completion.

                I remember hearing Dan Shelton's lead time was somewhere around 120 weeks......

                Mikes VCM is up now. Try designing what you want and email him (email, not PM) asking for lead time. He'll help as much as he can, and give you an honest answer. He responds quickly as well.
                If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!

                  What was the story with Shelton anyway? Just took on too much work at once?

                      Whilst VCM is very good, my design did not really fit in with that. I emailed MW, he just emailed back to use VCM, he obviously either didnt bother looking at the attachments or does not want/need the work. That is fair enough I will go elsewhere.

                        I recently spoke to him during a repair to a cue and it was over a year.

                          To be fair to Robin he replied straight away, but he does not use either Ambonya or Tiger Maple.

                            Funny, I've just done a quick version of it, and it came up with £850 approx, and a comments box to include on the email. You pick the design you want, fill in the appropriate bits, and choose custom for the lower splice.

                            I think he designed the VCM to prevent him getting hundreds of different emails with people asking how much for this, how much for that. In his shoes, I'd get as bit annoyed that I went to that trouble to create the VCM, and people still don't want to use it. It gives you a good idea of what price you're looking at, although because of the speciality lower splice, it would probably bit more so he would come back to you when you ordered it.

                              To order a cue, I need to know exactly what I am to be charged for it, as you have said VCM cannot do that, hence the reason for the email. If that is the way he wants to business fine, however plenty of others have replied to my email with more helpful answers.

                                Does not use or does not have?

                                You could source yourself and ask him to build cue with it?

                                Robin tends to reply to emails with 24 hours, it seems if you email during the day you get a response in the evening, if you email after 6.30ish then you get a response the following morning.
