I mean with many sets veneers each high point and lower points are perfectly even and lined up.

I have seen and test more than 200 cues from all top rated makers. Sure you have seen much more than me. But i only seen one maker making perfect splices with many sets veneers with no 1mm off.

Other makers sure can. but if your order a cue with 4 lower splices and 3 sets veneers. That's 12 sets veneers. Most likely there will be some slightly off.

But if you order cue with 4 veneers or only lower splices or front splices. They will do a nice job.

Also the top level i rated considered the history and the customer service and resell value.

I agrees Dave and Robin cues are good. I put them at the first level with stamford. Customized coutts cues are imported. Hand made coutts i may consider at the top level. But i don't rate imported cues at top .

level veneers and splices are only one part of a cue and they can all do it it's just a question of economics and time.

You are absolutely right. To active the result cost a lot time and a lot materials will get waste.
So those cues have to sell at a higher price and more rare.
Most makers can do it but the rather not.
That why I said only one/ couple maker makes perfect cue.

I was not clear in my previous post.

I had a horrific experience with a custom made Tony Glover cue. I know alot of people who own cues made by Tony and not one of them has anything bad to say about his cues, mine however is a different story. When it arrived it was bent so I took it back to Tony who to be fair agreed to fix it without hesitation. However when it came back it was still bent. So I took it back again to be straightened and to have a personalised name plate fitted. It came back still bent and the name plate looks like Stevie Wonder fitted it with a chainsaw and a glue machine gun. As I said before I know alot of people who have bought Tony Glover cues without any problems. Persoanally I would rather play with a line prop ( I actually bought a cue from GBL for half the money and its the best cue I have ever played with, there is a man who knows how to give excellent customer service well done Stu !!!)

Sounds like you were very unlucky, maybe got a bad bit of wood ???
Just a thought, you weren't rolling the cue on the table were you to test for straightness ???? as that's not how you do it !
Oh and i agree on Stu, he is the nicest man you could meet

No mate i was NOT rolling it across the table. I knew something was wrong after playing a few shots with it and when I looked down the shaft it was obviously bent. Thinking I was going mad I got my Dad to have a look at sure enough it was like a Dogs back leg. Bad bit of wood or not I would of thought that someone with Tony's reputation would have either put it right or replaced it if for some reason this was not possible. Also butchering the end of my cue under the guise of fitting a name plate is very bad craftsmanship, or am i just being picky??? If anyone is looking for a new cue I cannot say enough good things about Stuart Green at GBL. His own line cues are not only VERY good quality but are VERY good value for money and he is an absolute gentleman to boot.....
