  • First Expensive Cue!

just signed up, looking for any advice on buying my first expensive cue, and with it being my first expensive for me is under 150, so any suggestions welcome, what brand to buy etc etc....

I use a Dunns cue which I picked up for £140 with case and extensions etc....Although they can be a bit hit and miss. Mine was ok but I have seen a few not so good cues from them. Also try craftsman cue website, they have a couple of cues under the £150 mark.

I have a perfectly good playing cue for sale this minute. If you don't want to spend a fortune, yet you want a good playing cue something like I have for sale is a good start. It's not laquered or varnished. The cue's come unfinished it seems. So i've finished this one with Antiquax and Sheratons bees wax. The shaft is silky smooth, and the butt has a nice little bit of grip due to the wax.

A mastercue "pyragon" from craftsman is what I am going to get next. I have tried my friends and they play as well as any other cue and are an absolute steal for £175 IMO.

skip peradon then. mastercraft, mastercue, cue craft, master cue, o'min or gbl would be the way to go.

I think he meant craftsman rather than two mastercue

also andy travis is in price range.

Anyone know what a realistic waiting time is to get a custom cue from Mastercraft? They say 3 weeks just to get a deposit and an order from you but are then unable to make you one in that time.
