Hi all, I am on the hunt for a nice handmade with a single white splice, can you all show pics of yours, or pics of any you might have seen on your travels (of the web)?

          better
The last time I saw Dan he showed me a cue he had worked on where the maple (white) veneer had snapped, carrying on with the ebony, the veneer came out as an arrow that was only about 3-4inches long and therefore did not reach the butt and looked like it was floating in the ebony. It looked great

Sounds good. Not really read much about Dan, I will have to do some research.

Why on earth would you lay your cue down on the floor though! haha.

Not the best outcome for a talented hobbyist cuemaker. I am sure you will find the other threads but in a nutshell, he started making good cues, took too much on, family problems, etc.
Recently, Mike Wooldridge (who originally helped Dan get setup) stepped in and has started finishing Dan's orders and they have started to be delivered.
Yeah, the photos on the drive where an on-going joke at the time, he did not have any great space/light to take photos but he always said that no cues were harmed in the process

haha. it hurts just to look at it.

I like the Wooldridge Black Shark, but the lack of a white splice upsets me hence this thread for inspiration.

Any more people care to share

Dan put his heart into the design and making of his cues.
I do not know how well his execution was as I have never held one of his cue in my hand but they look decent in the pictures.
I like his taste and his ideas. He obviously has great passion for exotic woods. He wanted to make some cues that look different from the norm.
He got some big orders from a dealer in Asia I believe plus some orders here and there on TSF and that was a lot of cues for a one man shop that was just starting. Unfortunately, he then had some personal problems and had to relocate and things just kind fo wetn downhill from there.
I miss Dan and miss looking at his new creations. He used to make fun of my love for snakewood when we used to chat a lot on MSN.
He had a keen eyes on designs and art and he noticed little things that a lot of people would not notice when they look at a cue.
We used to talk about cues and he was a big fan of Trevor's work.
Hope he is doing well and may be will come back and join us one day.
