  • 100 year old cue - Please Help !

Hey guys , this cue has been handed down from my great grandfather to me. It is 80-100 years old , made from pure ash and ebony and all i know is that it came from england. I was hoping that someone who has more knowledge then me would be able to tell me if they have every seen anything like it or maybe even where it came from. Iv been playing with it now 2 years , have a 116 break with it and the only thing iv done is retip it , oiled it and got a joint fitted in the bottom for extensions. There are no markings our plate on the bottom of it , just a marking for 16oz weight just above the butt Can someone please give me more into on it?? Can someone please help or show someone who is an expert on cues ? Here are some pics :

Looks machine spliced. Nice colouratipn to the ash. Value wise not sure but would'nt have thought a great deal. But if you play well with it then that shoud'nt matter.

It's an old machine spliced cue is all the info you'll get from those pics bud, with no makers plate it gonna be nigh on impossible...

Unless you can post pics of the butt and maybe someone will have a rough idea from that by shape or summat, but that's still gonna be along shot.

      All the best...

Do play well with it and like it but if playing with a better made cue would improve my game i suppose i might have to consider it.

Judging by the pics you have shown us of the cue i would think it might fetch £50 to £60.

Pretty much the same as one I picked up off Ebay a few months back. Paid about £22 including a old tin and postage :snooker:

As you said you made Century with it I would personally keep it as you would be lucky to get £20-£30 for it m8.

If you play well with it I would advice you to keep it. You may never find one like that even spending 10 times or more than what you get from selling this cue.
