  • cue wax or oil

is it best to put wax or linceed oil on my cue, i have a john parris cue, i have had to use really fine sand paper to get the small rough feel of the grain off the cue.

also whats the best way to apply either option. cheers

If it is a Parris cue then he originally applied Raw Linseed Oil, so that would be the easiest to match.
See his website, he has a page Cue Care which explains how to apply the oil, but I would say one thing, apply in very small amounts and wipe off any excess immediately.
If you apply too much, leave excess and or do not wait for it to dry, you will end up with a sticky finish that will take a lot of buffing to reduce.
Leave to dry (overnight is good) then buff with dry clean cotton cloth.
Apply RLO again if any dry areas are obvious.
I am not saying do not apply wax, I am only saying that JP's advice (for his cues especially) only mentions RLO and not wax.
Applying a wax is very similar, little and carefully.

    all the best
