  • cue seems alive

right lads little tester for you 1 of the cues ive made the wood in the shaft seems to have a life of its own,it seems as though it bends with slightest weight on it ie lean it lol on it it bends, all i do is rub it against the bend with the palm of my hand and the heat generated straightens it back up,my mate says he had a b & watts button badge like it 25 yr ago seems as if the wood is still green as such any ideas apart from bin it lol

Hmm, I'v heard a similar story in the snooker club a while ago, but his was maple. How long did you leave it to settle for, and has it been treated with anything? :snooker:

O yeah, and if your only going to chuck it, you could always send it my way, I'd be interested to see this lol

Very strange! Did you get it from the same place you usually do? Perhaps it hadn't dried out properly and was too fresh? I have known fresher pieces of wood to be more moist and therefore more pliable with heat.

That is a very good cue design IMO as it suits me better 'cause it brings the balance forward :snooker:

If it will bend that easily and stay bend just from a light push then it lacks the spring and firmness required for a good shaft.
A good shaft should bounce back and give the cue ball a "snap" which is what makes the shaft responsive, in my humble opinion.

Sell it to fedia. His cues have a life of their own and pot balls effortlessly........
