Heres my latest purchase to my world of cue making! It's a Colchester chipmaster 5x20! Single phase!
Really nice lathe! Can't wait to really get going on it!
Thought I'd share a wee photo!

Hi jim the bore is 35.6 mm perfect for cues!
Really happy with it! Just need a tool post and chuck which a friend is sorting out for me!
Also has a taper attachment which could be very handy!

        raymo:

You'll have to make a lot of cues to pay for that baby I think!

Yes terry but cue making life is virtually impossible without one! I'm slowly but surely getting there even if at a snails pace! These things take time! P.s I haven't forgot about your cue terry just had a lot on with all this! Just can't wait to be settled! Cheers Raymond!

Hi jim I don't mind disclosing the price! Cost me £750 so very happy with that as I was going to pay £1500 for another lathe called a toolco! There sight is very interesting! Also handy that this lathe is in Glasgow which helps!

Ive worked on one of these, isnt the bed length a bit short for cues?
20 inch will mean you wont get a shaft tapered on it, plus I think its even smaller than that as the tail stock is quite a big size.

Hi Jason thanks for your input! Totally understand what your saying but I'm not looking to completely taper the full shaft on it will be doing that by hand! It will however be really usefull in most other areas! Have you got a lathe yourself?

Sorry, dont mean to be negative.
Its a nice lathe and a good price, will last forever.
I have a lathe that has loads of modifications, similar style to the chip master.
                      Does make life alot easier.

Yes Jason I certainly hope so! What lathe do you have then and how long is the bed? I take it you try to turn the full shafts on yours? I'm really getting into lathes and appreciate the build quality in them!
