Apart from the obvious grain etc what are the other main differences between a maple and ash shaft? I myself first used a 1piece with a maple shaft and rosewood butt which I wouldn't have felt running on my bridge hand. I don't have that cue now but I have never played with a maple since now I have only played with ash cues with ebony butts which are way more popular I think because of the nice grains and looks but for me they don't have that same silky feel of the maple and I would just like others opinions on this
