I too thought it was called Sterling at first but it is actually called Stirling. May be it is the name of a town or something...

I was curious about this name Stirling (as I thought it was Sterling at first) so I searched it on line and this came up first: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stirling
According to wikipedia Stirling is a city in Scotland.
It probably has other meanings but I have no idea.

Hi Pooljunkie my thoughts would be that its named the Stirling because of Stephen Hendry judging by the powerglide connoisseur splicing design and that to the best of my recollection Stephens manager Ian Doyles club base was in Stirling, could be wrong tho!

Hendry was born in South Queensferry and lives in Auchterarder, both of which are not really near stirling!
