Somehow 'quality' and 'made in china' doesn't sound right to me in the same sentence.

I have just found the LP website, have a look at their King Cue, the price is around £2000!!!

        This is the link:-

Mind you, the cue that I saw last night was as perfect a cue as you are ever likely to see, must be the LP equivalent of an ultimate cue.

If my memory serves me right, there's a forum member called cueinhand who knows a bit about cues from China.

I've been to the factory a couple of times and they make the full spectrum of cues, cheap machine spliced to very expensive handmade cues. They make most things in house from tips to joints.
I was told they have a capacity of 2000 cues a day.

my only comment is i just had one in for alteration from overseas and it was not impressive. in fact, splicing was a bit dodgy with some filler near top on one splice and glue lines on another.

i'm sure they can make better, but that's my only experience of the 'top of the range' lk.t cues.

i say good luck to them. the british do not hold world rights on making quality cues. wherever a cue is made, if it is done well, it should be recognised as such and not judged on country of origin.

How many people work in the factory? Is it a very high tech kind of facility? Making 2000 cues a day is impressive.

I think it is probably assembly line style with many equipment/machine all built for a particular purpose for a particular job. E.g. the guy doing the joint will be doing joint all day and the guy doing the taper will be doing taper all day and such...

Well, the cue that I saw belongs to Mike Russell, the billiards champion. He had it made to his own spec and actually paid around £800 for it! The cue is stunning, 58in long, 10mm tip and although it is 17.5oz weight is so well balanced that it just felt perfect. The side grain is dead straight and the arrows are are equally spaced and sharp. Mike used the cue as his playing cue for a few months but he changes cues all the time. The cue I saw is 3/4 joined with a stainless steel 'vacuum' joint that I hadn't seen before.
