    Hi,

    I have two King Cues in one piece and 5 Duke Cues in 3/4, -- honestly they make John Parris & Co look like cheap club rack cues and don't just take my word for it, Mike Russell the World Billiards Champion uses one, as do most Indian Billiard Players and quite a few main tour players, I might sell one King Cue and two Dukes. The LP cues carry a hologram and a bar code you can check the type of cue you have on their web site. I have been to their factory a few times now and so has Stan Mullins who is also on this forum, Stan is supplying the One Klick joints for their Butt Extension inserts. To appreciate the work they put into their top cues you must see their factory, they are also as far as I know the only cue maker anywhere in the world that buys coppice grown sporting ash by the container load, King & Duke cues have ash that has been stored for at least 50 years. Their Club Cues are good for what they are, well made but wont suit the enthusiast, but again they cost like 25 pounds ?? however any LP cue of T,R,S -01 Standard or his Professional which sell for 6800 - 12800 RMB about 450 + pounds are as good as any cue from any maker, the difference between these and the Duke & King Cue is simply in the material, i.e. blacker ebony, better grained and aged ash, and for the King Cue totally hand made, every Duke I have has that lovely aged patina. The better your cue action and skill level the more you will appreciate the LP cues.

      Terry - do yourself a favour and try one of the LP Duke or LP Professional Cue - compare it to whatever you bought previously from anywhere, LK.T are good and nice cues the guy does some amazing in lay work but they are not in the same league as Lou Xi Pei's LP cues, ask any Chinese professional player or simply email the China Billiard and Snooker Association, they only recommend LP cues for their up and coming players and for good reason. I have been to their factory twice and have some really good contacts there, I don't sell their cues but if you want one or have one made to your own spec. I am happy to ask if they do one for you, normally they only sell to trade customers with an established trading record and there is minimum monthly order quantity involved, but they made a few specials for top professional players around the world and are happy to help the professional game, email me if I can help.

        I just wondered if anyone else on the forum had any more information on LP cues? I tried to do an Internet search but haven't found much.

        LP cues go for about 300-400 chinese yuan on avg on chinese ebay, it is flooooded with LP cues. I have contacted many sellers that even a top of the line LP cue shouldn't cost more than 1-2000 chinese yuan, which is at most 100-200 british pounds.

          004.jpgThe short answer is - DONT BOTHER WITH THE CHEAP ONES - they are made for pool halls and are painted - sell on ebay for around 75 pounds are made for 20 pounds - Anything with a vacuum joint from LP is a cheap cue. If you go on their wed site they list the cheaper and also the better cues with prices attached.

          And you don't have to outlay 2000 pounds to get a superb LP Cue either;
          The LP- Professional T-01 is a superb cue that will satisfy even the most demanding of players.
          If you can afford the high priced creations you wont be disappointed as you will own the best crafted quality cue money can buy – and don't just take my word for it – ask a top professional who uses one.

          One of our top players owns two T-01 cues – one he is using on tour and this one, - he prefers the balance of the one he uses, my choice would have been this one, both are identical in specification but differ in the wood used for the face splice.

          http://www.ts-lp.com/lang-en/items?start=10

          Prices ex factory are 3100 Y ( 308 UK Pounds)

          The Cue pictured has the following specifications;

          Length: 57.5”
          Weight: 18.85 Oz
          Butt: Ebony with single face splice in Curly Mulga over Maple veneer 29.5 mm Dia
          Tip & Ferrule: 10 mm ( LP Special tip medium similar to Kamui made in Japan)
          Shaft: Air dried North American coppice * grown Ash ( * purpose plantation Ash) the timber
          is grown for specific sporting good usage not like the Building grade ash your cue was constructed from. If you don't know or would like to know the difference between purpose grown Ash and building grade Ash go the US/Canadian wood information site, they also give you a chemical break down and characteristic of each wood. A US baseball bat maker of quality bat's would NEVER use building grade ash for his products.

          The cue is very stiff with a solid hit and it has superb balance.

          This cue is superior to the Parris Ultimate cues we have had here,in fact a few of our better players have actually traded or sold their Parris Ultimates on eBay and are now playing with a T – 01

          This cue plays as well as the much higher priced Duke ( 6800 – 12800 RMB) Professional ( 7800 – 12800 RMB) King ( 19800 RMB) the difference is mainly in the quality of the materials, the ebony butt although of superb quality and feel has the ebony typical greyish streaks the top priced cues are jet black ( not colored as some cue makers do) and the ash on this one does not have that aged patina or the precise chevrons the high priced cues do, from a players point of view these differences are superficial and do not detract from the cues playability.

          Would love to have someone who uses a Parris Ultimate or other high priced make of cue honestly compare this one to theirs; I think you may be in for a huge shock.

            Chinese Ebay is flooded with LP cues, most go for 300-400 Chinese Yuan, about 30-40 british pounds, with a LOT of freebies thrown in such as case, glove, chalk, tip, cloth, etc. etc.. their top of the line model is no more than 2000 yuan, about 200 british pounds for a quality handmade. Not saying the cue is bad quality, just saying their cue don't worth much.

              I would love to try out one of the top-of-the-line LP cues but they are very expensive and I would hate to spend that kind of money to get a cue I couldn't get on with. Now if they can offer a free trial period where I can either purchase or return the cue for just the shipping charges then I could go for that.

              My specs are 57", 9.4mm, 18.5oz, 3/4-butt with ash shaft, 29mm butt diameter and around 17" balance point. and I would like the T-01 (or better) model please. I would do a review of the cue on here but have them approve it first

                Hi Terry,

                I have never heard of anyone sending cues around the world for a free trial period?? Love to use one myself if they exist. I do know they will let you try any cue they have for as long as you want at their championship table in their factory, which might not be the cheapest for you either, although would be an enjoyable trip. A National tour player I know has a spare Duke Cue, brand new pretty close to your spec. PM me your private email and I'll send you some pics, this cue was 6800 RMB and the player has only used it for one afternoon deciding which of the two he bought to take, he is not parting with the one he chose as he just knocked in a 146 at our National event last week with it. Make him a reasonable offer he is a very fair guy. This would be the most cost effective way I know of to get your hands on one of the top LP cues. You can have one made totally to your own spec. they take about 2 months to do one, but as I said I doubt they will send you one without payment. Lou Xipei is currently at the Beijing Open, if you know anyone playing in Beijing ask them about Lou, I found some of the comments he received from various guys trying to get a Duke or King Cue cheap hilarious, the guy has made top cues for most top UK cue-makers for years on an OED basis, he knows the best cues and what they cost he also knows how good his Duke and King cues are, he priced the Duke/King cue on the very best you can get from Will Hunt or John Parris, and on that they are actually cheap,get a Will Hunt cue in that spec. and see what you are up for ? you really need to ask professional players that use a Duke or King how they compare, not the logo disc players. The Duke I mentioned to you looks and plays like a very early Will Hunt cue, and the ash in the shaft is amazing.:snooker:

                  How do I try to purchase an LP cue? I'm in the UK and can't find a contact email on the website.

                  How easy is it to get hold of one or get a custom made?

                      Yeah I know, they don't seem to be to bothered with making it easy to contact them, we had the same problem, we made contact with Lou Xipei direct at the Shanghai Masters a few years ago, you could try to ring him on his mobile ?? I was told their new web site includes a contact number or email ?? What were you after ??

                          They don't have an eBay shop, the guys selling the vacuum jointed LP cues on eBay for 60 or whatever pounds are not LP and have nothing to do with LP they just buy surplus club stock from the factory, you wont find a decent cue amongst those, really need to contact their factory direct. We have always ordered when we had the required minimum quantity, not even sure if you can buy a single cue, certainly not at trade price. I am in Beijing right now if I get the chance I will ask Lou and post his reply.

                            I just bought a Duke Cue from LP, through a reseller in Melbourne. My initial thoughts are WOW! It's a 3/4 ash with ebony butt and holy cow does this thing feel great to play with. Ok, so I'm new to snooker, but I've been playing pool for about 20 years and have used and owned a lot of cues. This one is on another level entirely! It's kind of like my gun with a laser sight, point and shoot. What you see is what you get. My absolute highest praise to these guys for making such a great cue. I paid $1000 AUD/Y6800. They do have cheaper cues, so you don't have to break the bank to get one, but let me say that if you do you probably won't want to play with anything else.
                            Can anyone tell I'm really excited?
