I have talked to some pros about cues and posture.
They told me that if someone is new to the game they should
Learn to have a very good posture. But if you have played a long time
The best for you is to stick with whatever you feel most comfortable with.
Same with cue specs. If you already used to something. May be that is the best
    For you.
If what you currently have is superb match success, making centuries regularly, closing out tight frames, hitting all the snookers, having fantastic pin point ball control, and generally dominating whomever you play, then yes stay where you are. But of course, most people don't get there or they reach a plateau and want to strive for the above. It's not beyond anyone's reach, but it may be beyond their ability to believe.

If you want to progress and become better, then something has to change and often it's the cue action, the cue, your strategy or all the above.
