How would you as a customer feel if you found out that your new cue that was supposed to have a standard brass ferrule on it, and a couple of weeks prior to delivery you find out it will have this new black thing on...?
Well all I can say to this is that since it's Mike I am very calm and confident about it being great.Last edited by Guy3103; 20 April 2012, 10:25 AM.

One comment was that this accessory was "sanctioned" by World Snooker, and this was even on the manufacturer's website. This accessory is sanctioned by World Snooker but not mentioned in the rules.
So, if World Snooker have supposedly sanctioned an accessory that the player can consciously add to the cue as and when required, I don't think that they would have any problem at all with a new-type ferrule that is integral to the cue and the player cannot add it or remove it as per the shot at hand.
I also, what about those cues that have no ferrule? :snooker:
:devilish:
you are right, there can be no issues about an integral part of the design/makeup of a cue. no more than there could be issues of using laminated shafts for example, or the latest multi layer tip that promises miracles, or 'magic' chalk that requires less use....
no cue, regardless of how it is tapered, or what ferrule is fitted, or what tip is fitted, or any other 'gimmick' it may have, will make a world champion or give anyone a tangible advantage.
only the player and his control can do that.

it is harder to do, costs more, takes more time, but i like what it does so that's what i want my customers to have.
if anyone doesn't like it there are plenty of other cue makers to choose from.
in fact, i would welcome a drop in interest/enquiries so i'll be more than happy if i p*ss a few people off

I don't see any reasons that Mike have to explain all these questions.
The only way to tell it's good or bad is by trying it.
The buyers will buy cues no matter what. They may don't like it. Then all they have to do is tell Mike that they don't like the new
ferrule then Mike will happy to replace a brass one fro them.
The non-buyer will doubt if it's that good without trying one in real. The haters will saying that it won't be good no matter what.
For my point of view. Mike is always try to improve something. Such as joint and this.
He is benefiting the whole snooker population.
It not about how you think about his idea is good or bad. But at least we can see that he is trying really hard to provide something
will improve in cue making. It may not work for some people. You just need go buy your cues from other makers then.
If you check Mike's shop often enough, you will see how many orders he gets. I really don't think he have or need to do all the stuff he is doing, he will still get more orders than he can manage without "F1 joint" and "black spin". He just want to give his customers
something thing nice that's all. I am sure his customers will be happy with the cues they received.

So my new Mike Wooldridge Legend arrived yesterday, BlackSpin fitted.
Without doubt the best decision i ever made! Simply amazing.
All i would say to anyone with any doubts, amateurs, pro's, cue makers and all, is try it. The feel of this cue is perfect in every way. I am in no way a pro myself and in fact during my 6 hours play last night overall i was pretty sh*t, but there was no getting away from the fact that there’s something in this new ferrule system that just makes every shot feel as sweet as you could wish.
Pictures to follow shortly

been asked to do one quick for a well known qualifier, but i can't see him changing immediately given that the selfish git went and spoilt the timing by smashing a max in
mind you, am i the only one who thinks the positional play was dodgy throughout??? great break of course, but so many shots made more awkward than they should have been.
so maybe he's not entirely happy with his cue at moment. we'll see...
