reviews will filter through but give it time, not many people are lucky enough to have tried it yet, and most do not even know about this forum. interestingly, we did two tw cues this week...

    however, frenchi summed it up:

frenchi's review was both eloquent and absolutely hit the nail on the head. i particularly like the use of the word - delicious. most appropriate.

good work frenchi, let me know how much i owe you...

btw, your written english is far superior to most of the natives...

    it is.

in fact, i have never been so comfortable with my jointed cues as i am now, given that i am a lifelong 1pc man and would always recommend 1pc if possible.

that's changing now though. i believe the transmission of 'energy' through the cue is much closer to 1pc than ever before.

        • Mike, you could ask if the other threads can be locked?

Any news on my Snooker and American pool combo?

            • Hope you don't mind me replying to something we were discussing in the closed thread. On the question of whether standard black sharks will be offered again....

              From JRC,
When you go into Mike's shop, the normal Shark's are marked as "sold out", it doesn't make any mention of them being discontinued as you seem to be implying. And yes there is no mention of deluxe shafts on the badge (as far as i know) which as you say is a bit confusing come to time to sell it, (if you ever do), i guess keeping the receipt in this case would be a good idea
Yes it doesn't say discontinued, but I just think the lack of anything to identify it apart from the receipt and nice chevrons implies no intention to bring standard sharks back. And the fact that Mike hasn't said otherwise, and they sold out a short time after the deluxe and legend models arrived. For resale, if standard sharks were also floating around at the time, I'd want more than a receipt to be honest.

That said, I notice that you can now have a deluxe shark altered to your sizes for free. When that's considered it almost brings the cost down to the original sharks (if you needed some changes) with the benefit of a visually outstanding shaft.
              Tear up that manure-fed astroturf!

              • i am very low on original stock of shark with no immediate plans to do more in the near future as i am backed up with legend and custom orders.

there are a few standard ones left to sort out but i've not had time.

the deluxe ones have superb shafts that are likely better than anything else you'll see.

actually i made a mistake and should have kept these back for custom orders...

with regards to differentiating between models sold, i am considering ideas at the moment.

although, it is reasonably obvious when you look at a deluxe shaft on account of the very even patterns and clear lines.

also, regarding pricing, to try to keep ahead last year, cues were finished up (oiled stage) and ready to go, so any changes involved a big job and cost extra.

now, i am more organised and am almost exclusively working on part made stock individually, so it makes no odds what sizes i go to.

                if that makes sense...
