  • Mike Wooldridge - *NEW* 'BlackSpin' Ferrule System

I'll let you know when I get my cue back
    Can't wait

    • You are getting a bit technical now PP...

I thought I saw one of the guys using a cue with a black ferrule on the coverage of the Aussie open....

Are any professionals using a MW cue with or without the new ferrule?

      • Low deflection? Just cue the ******* ball better!

Mike obviously knows how to play a bit because he mentioned the only thing that matters when playing with a cue. The feel when you hit it.

As soon as Mike gets caught up I will place an order on his VCM because it can't hurt to try, curiousity has won the battle over me.

But please can folk stop mentioning the cue being this entity that causes the white to mysteriously veer of course. I feel like I'm tearing my pissing hair out everytime I catch up on this gargantuan thread.

Mike, you probably have had this asked many times already but do you have any idea on when you'll open up your custom cue web page again?

          my experience shows it does.

particularly noticeable on long drag shots. very noticeable how much easier it is.

not as far as i know. very few people have it at the moment, although i am swamped with orders so it won't be long before you see more.

So does it increase screw back?
Harder than you think is a beautiful thing.

not just yet mate. we really are flat out here right now.

i played my best snooker and made all my big breaks with a normal 1pc brass ferruled cue, and until i 'accidentally' discovered this recently, i would never have felt the need to change or dreamt i would be suggesting using anything different.

the feedback i have received to date has far exceeded even my own expectations, with an overwhelming concensus that the hit of the ball, and the ease of generating spin is easier.

along with that 'delicious' contact, lower deflection has been a key benefit that customers have commented on.

                and liked very much.

                  • Hi Mike,
Are the order to delivery times quoted on your site still accurate? Just with you saying how busy you are.

struggling but trying to keep as many as possible pretty close.

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking of getting another cue in the near future, hence the questions. Hypothetically, If I have one custom made, should I ask the maker to send you the cue (once you've agreed to do the job of course) without a ferrule/tip, just a plain wood end? This might get me a wee discount and there's also no point adding a ferrule/tip that has to be removed before it's even played with.

I've taken ferrules off before, with a dremel and a steady hand. It's tricky work. Easier not to put one on and take it off!
