Yes. Afraid it just got all too much for me so had to turn the tap off again...

Won't be shut too long this time though.

Mike I just stuck on your super tips and got to congratulate you mate. My elk when I screw back with pace would miscue 2/10 timesaver though I had loaded it up with chalk and even then I wasn't getting the reaction on it. Put your tip on and bingo potting the ball with pace from D and screwing back from black spot with accuracy. What a difference you can tell and it breads confidence knowing your bit going to hurl the white 10ft up in the air! Cheers think I might have to kiss you! X there!!

Same here too. I ordered my Legend 8-9 weeks ago and I have been checking the status regularly. I am waiting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Maybe Cuefather can shed some light as well

                • Mike, any chance you could post a video of the tip making process? I'm sure many people would find it interesting.

                  • Hi,Mike sorry if this has been raised before i tried to read all the posts but lost the will to live on page 14 lol.
How good a quality should your cue be to make swapping to your tips etc worthwhile? i play with what can best be described as a bit of kindling purchased off ebay (£29.00) but i like it(i have never held a decent cue let alone played with or owned one)would it be a waste of time for me or is it the opposite and it would make a dramatic improvement for my bit of firewood.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

                      • I saw a Blackspin in the flesh yesterday at the Sussex v's Hampshire inter-county game. Looked around 8.5mm ish. There were a few Hampshire players with Wooldridge cues!

                          lol. i bet they would.

but then they would know how it's done, without wasting thousands of pounds and countless hours/days/weeks finding out the hard way.

i'll think i'll keep it to myself at this moment...

it would certainly make a difference but, at that price point, the overall quality of the cue is likely to be not great, particularly joints/weights which may cause problems later.

a more sensible option would be a damn good refinish and check the ferrule is fixed properly. often they are not and this will impact the overall feel greatly.

                          what he said...

once the cue is 'tidied up', get a decent tip fitted. it will feel a whole lot better.

if you decide to stick at the game, you'll probably want to move up in terms of cue quality. that would be the time to throw more money at the cue, but only if you were really happy with it and had no particular urge to change.

having said that, some cheap cues turn out pretty good, so if you are happy with what you have then there is no reason not to invest in it further. it does improve overall contact and feel.
