although it will be harder than normal tip, it should be ok.
i think you may have a dodgy one if you've miscued.
there have been some very hard bits of leather coming through. could be the problem.
try some rough sandpaper on it, see if it loosens the fibres a bit.
looks really nice in the pic though
All the better players in my club have now had a go with it, and all seem impressed, all are screwing back much further than usual, i do it just to show off lol and sod the position Someone commented about Ebdon using one, but i put them right Mike
Could sell it 5 times over, so it must be good !!!

Ok, here's my tuppence worth.
I wish I hadn't had mine fitted, I think rather than helping with the feel it has completely negated it.
This is in no way a comment about Mikes workmanship which is top notch, he's also a top bloke to deal with
I've struggled with it since I've had it done, to the point of giving up playing with it
The cue does throw a lot less which is a plus, and also the tips stick really well, I just cannot seem to get the reaction I used to get with the cue as it was, and as I said earlier no feeling on the shots I just don't get the sort of feedback through the cue as I did.
I've tried all sorts of tips on the cue and struggled to find one that suits to no avail
As I said earlier this is no slight on mike or the blackspin tips and ferrule, but rather my own opinion that my cue ( made by mike) was better suited to me as it was
I know I'm in the minority with this as everybody seems to love theirs. I've got to the stage where I've lost confidence in myself, I'm pretty gutted as I liked my cue
I realise that this is probably all in my head and the cue hasn't become a bad one since, but as the game has a large metal element it's wreaking havok on my form.
I thought that this would make a good cue even better, Sadly for me this is not the case.

you're more likely to miscue with steeper angles.

Hi mike
No haven't e mailed you as youve already put the brass ferrule back on.
Just can't get on with it and didn't know there's anything that could be done to it as obviously the core is still in.
As a lot of people like theirs I assumed its just me that thought my cue was better off without it in
As I said this wasn't in any way meant to criticise you in any way, as youve always been more than helpful, just gutted with myself for changing what was already a good cue.

Well, here's my views, now that I got my talisman M tip on as this leaves it with a cue and tip I know, just the blackspin being different.
I must say that there is definitely less deflection using the blackspin and MIKES TIP together, although with the talisman, I'm getting more feel and more action on the cueball.
I definitely notice a difference for the better and although I get more deflection, although not as much as I used to, the combination of blackspin and talisman is fantastic.
Would love to try this with mikes other tips at some point in the future, but for now, I'm one happy camper
Kind of making me want to sell my cue and get one from Mike lol but why change something you're happy with lol

For me, it's a given fact that a good pressed tip throws less/gives more reaction than a laminated.
One of the reasons I don't like laminated myself...
So yes, there definitely is an element of a tip/ferrule combination.
Anyway, glad you noticed the difference based on your experience with a laminated tip.
Will help people understand more, all the factors that affect cue all performance.

lol. easily done mate. i must be clumsy cos i often do it too
use a blade, either the sharp edge very very carefully, or the back and kind of scrape at it until it 'pops' off.
you do not wanna sand it cos the ferrule will sand away quicker than superglue.
so better to 'cut' it off. same applies to superglue on brass ferrules. don't sand, scrape/cut.
