took delivery of my jason owen cue back from mike this morning after getting the black spin ferrule fitted and got the ultra shine treatment done. He's done a brilliant job and the feel of the cue is 100% better than it was

The feel and feedback along the cue is very reassuring. The amount of chalk they hold and the grip they produce is really impressive.
Thanks again Mike for exceeding all of my expectations...

Bump!
Been nearly 12Mths since this thread has had a reply and how is everyone going with them now after 2 years when a lot had them fitted?
I have a MW " Legend " on order currently and hopefully receiving it soon so i am interested to hear how people are getting on with this awesome setup now, and who is still using their Cues that have this Blackspin fitted as their daily player? If it is called " Common sense " why is it so rare???

I have emailed Mike multiple times requesting price quote for a cue I want made up eventually and he hasn't gotten back to me in months. Is this a normal thing for cue makers?“Thus so wretched is man that he would weary even without any cause for weariness... and so frivolous is he that, though full of a thousand reasons for weariness, the least thing, such as playing billiards or hitting a ball, is sufficient enough to amuse him.” Mr. Blaise Pascal

I got in touch with him via Email from his website and join that first. Then you can see all the prices for Cues as they are all SET. You then add your own Specs from the builder tool and while little things may cost more it will not be that much.
If you have not bothered to join his site which you must do to purchase from him you will not really need a quote for a Custom made Cue as you can do it yourself from the Site and go from there.
Being busy like he is he may have just put you in the time waster basket! lol
When i ordered i was told " The Legend " Cue which i wanted would take about a week to get to my Specs as he has many blank ones available ( Not tipped/ferruled , lenghtened etc waiting for final touch ups as per customer specs) and then shipped out when ready. From memory it was the only the legend model and Tiger that were available for this or else i had to wait months for any other one.Last edited by Chappy5; 31 January 2015, 07:15 AM.If it is called " Common sense " why is it so rare???

Mike make some superb cues but for me that blackspin ferrule is not for everyone and I'm sure if he would let you change these during checkout he would sell so many more of these as they are the same quality cue as his VCM line. Blackspin more of a gimmick IMHO that ain't quite taken off as he would of hoped

Yep I am- They take a bit of getting used to but once you do I personally wouldn't go back to a normal Ferrule. They do play differently, difficult to explain but IMO better. I've had quite a few friends try my cue and order one themselves. Regarding ordering through Mike I've never had a problem with him returning emails, prompt replies etc.....As Chappy has stated prob best to join up first then very easy to peruse his site. I dread to think how many emails he gets asking for quotes that you could easily find on his website

I have joined his site but that is good to know. I also wanted the legend cue. Just something nice a simple. How do you like the cue you got from him?“Thus so wretched is man that he would weary even without any cause for weariness... and so frivolous is he that, though full of a thousand reasons for weariness, the least thing, such as playing billiards or hitting a ball, is sufficient enough to amuse him.” Mr. Blaise Pascal

It is what it is though and when i get it i do.Last edited by Chappy5; 31 January 2015, 09:52 AM.If it is called " Common sense " why is it so rare???
