It's very nice to see John Parris is willing to experiment with a new badge, a different joint, and even machine spliced too! Plus the quality appears to be something John assigned to an untrained apprentice to let him have a go.

What goes through some people's minds? 'I think I'll post this as a John Parris cue since he is the only good cuemaker I've ever heard of and I should get more money for it if I do'...jeezus!

God, these clowns carn't even be bothered to stick what looks like a real, or good copy badge on straight.
No ebay history aswell, seems seller knows exactly what hes up to.

Don't recall Parris making that type of intricate design until recently .

What i did not like , was no decent pic of the shaft or joint .

Couldn't work out angle of badge , though it might have just been the angle the pic was taken .

Reported as a fake to ebay, badge deffinatly looks on the skew.
Was the conclusion that this one was a fake aswell? As bidding has got over a ton

Badge almost looks like its a sticker, looks incredibly flat with no indentation on the lettering.

Yeah its a shame people dont do there research before they part with there hard earned.
Just goes to show the society we live in people will buy anything with a well known name!

                    • What about making a little online-catalogue here with pics of the original badges and typical characteristics (like joints, coloured glue, splicings etc.) of cuemakers? Could be help for a lot of people who are going to buy an expensive cue here or on ebay to recognize a fake.

Should contain also unsual but genuine cues like the machine-spliced "Master Cue" by John Parris or the earlier Hunt&O'Byrne machine-spliced Redplate-Range with untypical but genuine joints.

To me it's often hard to tell if it's a fake or an old, former used badge, joint etc. I just don't know.

I think there are experts enough in this forum to get lots of informations.

                      Just an idea.

                          • Emailed the seller, he was rude and arrogent! He knows exactly what hes up to, thats why hes created a new account.
How can i get this listing pulled by ebay? Really dont want the obvious arsehole to prophet! and breaking someones heart when anyone with an ounce of knowledge lets them know what they have really brought.

                            • I'm afraid all you can do is report it as a fake, but ebay don't usually take any notice, as they only interested in making money
