Can't blame him, these things seem to be cranking out of china faster than the legit makers can keep up. Reported it anyway but i doubt they'll do anything.

        • Wouldn't suprise me if they did, they'd be quick to tell you to go through the proper channels etc where they have several chimps manning the dodgy items department. When i got my special cue back in 98 one of the first things i noticed was the glue on the edges of the splices and John wouldn't tell me what this was for besides it being there for a reason. Now the reason is all too obvious, worked for a while but they caught onto it at some point. Now what was a trickle seems to be turning into a flod of dodgy cues.

Starting to wonder if that guy with the boat load of traditionals is actually Jasonx, it was mentioned before by someone it might be him.

          • He said 3 of them were his in this post here: http://www.thesnookerforum.com/board...139#post652139
I'm guessing the 3 he meant was the regal, traditional and ambassador

Says it all then, if thats what he's flogging theres no doubt in my mind that the traditional at least is about as legit as a £3 note. And if the traditional is dodgy it doesnt say much for the others.

              • Yeh if you read that thread he says 3 out of the 4 of the cues mentioned are his and his mate is selling them for him and all of them looked dodgy to me to be honest. Also it looks nothing like a JP traditional, the hardwood splice is definitely not ovangkol for a start which we all know is what John uses for his traditional cues. I have new a JPU traditional style and the front splice looks nothing like that JP traditional on eBay and mine is definitely genuine

                    • I was interested in this, but the lady concerned didn't send me the pic of the signature as requested. Maybe it was an email problem, I don't know. Anyway, does anyone know if Parris made cues like this in his early career?

Thankyou for your advice. Glad I didn't bid. No-one got burnt. The Cheddar case looked nice though.

                          • Just noticed this in a listing for a legit parris classic:

Cue has always been stored in the rite place and knocked about or abused
                            That'll make it sell well
