Aye that's a big lathe too! Is it 3 phase I guess!
Mine was converted to single phase!
Had it running tonight just need to get electrics done in workshop!
    Own fuse box etc!
    Getting there slowly!
    Liked your first cue design!
    One to remember!
Are you on to the next one?

As you all know I just got my workshop built!
I had my lathe sitting patiently waiting to be moved in place but it was one hell off a job
As it weight half a ton!!
A full days planning a pallet truck and 4 bodies and wee done it in 2hrs!
But never again I tell you!
Here's a pic of it in place!

Hi jim I think it's 20" mate! I won't be turning shafts on it anyway will be doing any of
That work by hand! Weighting, fitting ferrules, joints, mini butts! Mainly!
          Just glad it's in place!

when you have spliced the butt and got nearly down to size say 35mm and roundish you can put in lathe and turn the butt so as its totally round, depending on your headstock hole, mine is only 30mm so i struggle that way but i have about 36 ins inbetween my head and tailstock so i can enter shaft through chuck side and do it that way

I never mentioned that but that was also in my plans! I know the bed ain't the longest but the bore
Is just over 35mm and also have a taper attachment!
So yes jim I will be using this once I get it set up well!

Looks good, get some tool boards up and have all your tools hung on them. That will save you loads of space.
Ive just got some more dust extraction, hate working in ebony dust. All machines now have their own dust extraction, just need to rig something round the lathe and some sort of air filtration.
