To be honest I wouldnt use Wenge again, looked amazing but was hard to work and too much hasle with goggles etc.
I did talk to MW afterwards and he said there are the 'standard' set of woods that most cue makers use for a reason, that reason being they look the best and the best results can be achieved easily with them.

I'm happy with Ebony and a single splice of Birds Eye Maple a la Joe Davis' or could be pushed for a bit of Masur Birch if feeling daring!!
