  • Really looking forward to the day I see my multi-spliced order in production. Retirement present to myself. Exciting times.

      • Great looking cue, Jason! Is that the most splices you've done on a cue?
Oh, and that's a bad miss.

Ive done a dozen triple spliced cues now and a half a dozen with 2 sets of lower splices.
This was quite tricky due to the Thuya burr, the grains of burrs can be awkward to work.

Amazing, I was on the Parris cue builder site last week and got a price for an Ultimate almost the same as this. Came in only just under 1K so I passed on that. Jason what would a cue like this be worth approx? Feel free to PM me if you prefer.

              Cheers

              • The ash shaft and the quality of that cue are brilliant! Definately up there with the best, funny how jason and the other new cuemakers on here can get some lovely ash and craftsman cues who i contacted recenty for a pro ash cue and they said they couldnt get and decent ash and pointed me to there pheonix range instead of building me a custom cue!
Is there thag much of a shortage for decent ash in the uk at the minute!

                • Smacks of easy profit. Sourcing the top materials can't be easy, but is clearly achieveable. If you can be bothered.

                  • Im not sure about the other cue makers, I have always had a good source of ash as luckily the contact at the Merchant plays snooker and so understood what I was after right from the start. I have also used him from the start and built up a good relationship. That said I only use about 30% of what I buy.
The latest few batches have been top quality and so I have brought more and more and have a stock pile now in my parents garage.
I think youll find that once a batch of good ash or good black ebony is found the top makers will buy as much as possible and store it.

                    • I vaguely remember mike saying he'd just aquired some very nice english ash, cant understand craftsman, theyve gone right down in my estimations...
