  • Laminated Tips

Not really used a laminated tip before so not had much experience with one.

I have asked Pete to get me an Aurora tip as he is visiting Dave Coutts. (Good or Bad choice i dont know) Can i have your opinions on these tips.

I know there is a lot of threads on tips.

But just want to find out what laminated tips they you are currently using and would recommend and the tips that you wouldnt use again.

    Thanks Matt

    Hi Matt,
I have Tried Most Tips on my Cues and Fitted Most Tips on the Market Today to Other peoples Cues, But last week I fitted a MW Laminated Super Tip to my Snooker Cue for the 1st Time. I have tried the MW Pressed Super Tips and they are Great but not Tried the Laminated Ones, The first few frames seemed very funny as these Mw Laminated Super Tips are very hard but what I will say is they are Great after a few Frames I didnt take Much Notice of the Hitting sound which does sound alot different to the Pressed Tips but this Laminated Tip is very Consistant and what I found also it Holds Genuine Green Triangle Chalk very well with No Mis-Cues which most other Laminated Tips Struggle to keep the Chalk on Including Kamui Tips.

I gotta say I have tried a few Hard Tips in my Time and didnt like them Including the Kamui Tip thats why I always stuck to Pressed Tips but this Mw Laminated Super Tip seems Great and will Only Get better with time I been told.

    Hope this Helps Matt.

You may find a lot of varying answers as each person is different and the same tips will play different on different cues But here are mine

      Favs
      Kamui M H
      Mastercue black magic
      Tally soft

Avoid Phoenix . nice tip but delaminate far too easy .

I've got a Kamui Black (medium) on my cue at the minute. I'm really pleased with how it plays and would recommend trying one. In the past I've used Elkmaster. My first layerd tip was a Tallisman (medium) which I found played nice aswell.

The Aurora's are quite good mate, currently trying a SS Kamui. Next one to try will be a Talisman.

For the first time tonight the super tip that i put on was bad felt very lifeless could hardly get any reaction from the cue ball at all and the tip made a very strange noise when the cue ball was struck really put me off my game.

So nipped home and changed the tip to a blue diamond plus as that was the only tip i had and made a 40 break first visit from nothing really.

First time ever i have had a bad experience with one of Mikes tips dunno what was wrong.

Does anyone know where the laminated super tips are available to buy.

Yes Mick not heard may bad reviews on here about the Talisman soft tips so they might be an option.

Swaying towards the option of just sticking to a pressed tip after i have tried the Aurora/Supertip Laminated if i dont get on with them and just buy a box of trusty elkmasters.
