  • Mike Woolridge Shark series

    Hi,
I am interested in what prices the MW shark series of cues start at and go up to. What features increase the price of this range of cues? His shop is closed at the moment, and I don't want to bother him at the moment having read on the forum why his shop is closed, I am not registered to his shop so I'm not sure of his prices and what affects them. I know from another reply on this forum that a custom legend works out about £850, which is a long way out of my budget so I was interested how much less a simple Shark series cue would be and I thought there must be people on here who have been on his shop in the past and would be able to give me rough estimates.

From reading around his site it looks like they should play just as well as the more expensive cues, but not look quite as fancy, which is fine by me for the moment. I would like a cue that plays well, and as I get better at the game and have more money in future I may be able to go with a flashier looking cue (if I wanted to ever change!).

Anyway, thanks for your help in advance!

I think they are about £175 for a plain ebony Shark series, you can pay extra for "selected" shaft, and there is also an Olive wood butt which takes it up to £350 +, nice cues

Cool, that sounds more like my budget. I'm thinking of up to £250 potentially. Once his shop re-opens I may well order one.

I love my shark. Mine was £250 with a 'deluxe' shaft but then there was another £50 to have some weight added. If u stick to the standard measurements they are good value cos theyre pretty awesome cues.

If your specs are 58", 17oz and 9.5mm ferrule then you can pick up a 1 piece standard shark for £175 or a deluxe shaft shark for £250 - both excellent value. The costs soon add up though if you need to change anything. Once I'd took an inch off the length, added a 3/4 joint, added an extra oz in weight and made the ferrule 9mm it was looking more like £500 which is why I decided for a custom
