I know mate, I love cue shops, hours of fun. It's a real drag being down here. There are no cue shops worth mentioning, at least none that stock decent quality and above. Actually, they don't even stock a Peradon Joe Davis. Maybe I should open a business?! Nothing like actually feeling a cue. Simon says (!) that the one I chose was the smoothest through the bridge V, so that's the right choice then, though it only had 4 chevrons (growth rings) down the shaft, so quite open grained, hence the smoothness without it feeling bumpy?

It's plain black 4 splice ebony butted with an ash shaft, 9.6mm tip, weighing 19 1/4 oz. I currently use a 19oz maple with a 9.5mm tip, so the new one ain't gonna feel too different, except for the ash of course. I'm interested in the tips, having not tried Phoenix tips before. Some say they're even better on reaction and spin than Talisman, which would be quite something.
Harder than you think is a beautiful thing.

Good value got money for £150. It's a nice cue. Seen them in their shop. Phoenix laminated tips are great. But you have to really wear the chalk into them.
        Always a pleasure

Saint Michael, is it a bit like a Talisman w.r.t. chalking then? Folk will slate me for this, but I prefer Master blue chalk, not green chalk. I know the green is finer and less sticky, but I quite like blue chalk for that reason, it seems to grip more. No-one uses though, except club guests who play once a year with a rack cue. And me of course! I wonder if this tip will take blue chalk? Cheers.
