It was a Craftsman that I bought from the shop when I went up about 7-8 years ago. Was a 1 piece with 4 lower snakewood splices over sycamore veneers. It was such a nice responsive cue yet stiff, played really well with it. THen I sent it back to Craftsman to get an end joint fitted so to use extensions, cue never felt the same again after that, made a funny sound on every shot and was off putting. I should have persevered with it but eventually went back to my old cue and sold it on Ebay about a month later.

I agree cueman, sticking a brass socket in a cue is retrograde. Unfortunately, most cues come with them inbuilt nowadays. If you bought a cue, you wouldn't stick a one ounce brass weight on the end of it, but that's exactly what a lot of cuemakers are doing. It's not going to help the balance of the cue, or feel, with a shock absorbing heavy density object under the handle. Thud.

My cue if money was no object would be a Wooldridge Legend 3/4 jointed (low join, like a 1pc thats been cut and joined below the splices) with black F1 join and black SD join. I would have Ash for the shaft and Ebony for the butt with single front splice of ebony over a medium thickness maple veneer. 9mm tip, 57" long, 17" balance and 17oz weight (same specs as current cue).

They can do a badge on a round butt cue in the normal place, they just round it off more to match the shape of the butt. Ive seen a few parris cues with a round butt and normal badge placement, yours is the first ive seen with the badge on the bottom of the butt.

yeah I have had one like that but I really like the plain ebony butt so john said he would fit it here for me when I asked. No regrets it looks great plays very well and I can screw on the extension for longer shots.win win.

I began thinking about mother of pearl inlays, a bit American if you feel it. And then I thought, why not have a mother of pearl veneer. Then I thought, how about mother of pearl splices from the biggest shells one could find. It would be quite heavy (no weight needed) and I imagine, extremely expensive. It would also be very fragile. But it would look like no other cue ever made before.
