  • What is your playing cue?

As the title says. What is your playing cue?

I know a lot of people on here have more than one cue. Especially collectors. For all the famous names and makers and unbelievable amount of money spent on cue designs. Some people just play great with an old two piece Riley cue. My mate Rich and Chris who are in my team play with old two piece centre jointed cues probably worth about £10 each. They've both had these cues since they were young. But they're both great players who knock in 100 breaks. Chris especially plays with a cue for sentimental reasons. His late mum bought him it for his 16 th birthday. I recently put a new tip in for him and I was surprised when I felt it how sticky and grubby it was. When I asked him if he'd ever cleaned it with a damp cloth. He said not. I cleaned it up and he loves it. It's all smooth now. Anyways what is your playing cue and why?

My main playing cue at the minute is my Jason Owen 1 piece maple/coco cue, just love the feel and balance of this cue, nice piece of maple fairly stiff but nice and responsive, great hitting cue, and also looks superb!

I always return to my one piece Greenbaize GBL cue, keep trying others out but still play my best with this, just feels right.

Looks a lovely cue that. Anybody got any opinions on north west cues. Don't really know much about them.

the cue im playing with at the moment is 1pc JP Special which is a fantastic playing cue!
it produces that special feel i was looking for in the cue, it is nicely balanced with a good weight .
          17" balance point, 18.1 OZ , 10.2mm ferule ,30.5 mm butt
funny enough ive sold this cue 3 weeks after ive bought it but 6 month later i bought it back and vica versa. that was lucky... or destiny ...who knows...

          happy potting

I'm currently using a Cue Craft Sherwood. It doesn't really feel special to me so I'm going to North West Cues for a custom cue when I start playing again. I like the Sherwood but it doesn't look all that appealing and it doesn't feel special, just feels like a cue. To put it simply, I went from a cheap mass-produced cue to the Sherwood and I noticed the difference but it only took and days practice for the feel to fade. I have a friend who has a NorthWest Cue and it looks superb and also sounds great when he strikes the cue ball.

This is my playing cue, kindly sold to me by Pete147...... and it has to be the best cue I've with to date by a country mile!!

It was a bit of a impulse buy cause I never got to try the cue out, but my mate Vlad seen it and played with it and he said it was a cracker and after talking to Pete about it there was only ever going to be one decision...... and I can safely say it was certainly the right one, so massive thanks to you too for talking me into it!!

I have had many cues and still do

Have played with cues from over a dozen of the top rated cues makers. But I still always go back to my first 2 UT cues that I had made

Visually they are as good as you get with superb shafts of dark straight grained ash with lovely arrows. I have had cues made by UT again but none have been as good as the first two that he made for me. The 12 splice is my regular playing cue whilst the other one is just a tad too heavy for my liking but I have it as a backup
